Our Telecoms Trainers

All of the trainers at Mpirical are experts in the telecoms industry, with decades of relevant experience. Many of our trainers specialise in a particular sub-topic, such as 5G Technology or Cloud Computing, and hold relevant BSc and MSc qualifications. Whilst our trainers come from a diverse range of backgrounds, from ex-military to academic educators, they all share a passion for delivering high-quality, engaging telecoms training.

All our trainers are vetted to NPPV1 standard.

Philip Nugent

Head of Technology & Technical Trainer

One of the four founders of Mpirical Limited, Phillip has over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry and offers unparalleled technical knowledge and expertise. He is responsible for the delivery and development of Mpirical’s telecoms training portfolio and is a Qualified Radio Officer.

Gavin Mitchell

Mpirical CEO & Technical Trainer

With nine years of communications electronics in the R.A.F. and 20 years of experience in the mobile telecoms industry, Gavin’s main focus is around the 4G and 5G Core, as well as IMS-based VoLTE and VoNR networks. Beyond working as a technical trainer, Gavin is also Mprical’s CEO. He holds an MSc in Mobile Telecommunication Engineering.

Technical Trainer

With over 15 years of experience in instructional design, implementation, and delivery, Kevin specialises in the application of cloud technology within 5G. He teaches a range of telecom topics around 4G and 5G technology, and holds both a BSc(Hons) Web Development and a PgCert Secondary Education in Information Technology.

Tom Miller

Technical Trainer

Tom specialises in cyber security, with a particular focus on cybersecurity risk management and communication. At Mpirical, Tom has designed and delivered a range of customised training courses with a focus on 5G technology. He holds a BSc in Computer Science and an MSc in Cyber Security.
