VHTS (Very High Throughput Satellite) systems utilizing spot beams in order provide broadband services to end users with bit rates in excess of Terabit/s. They are ideally suited to support 5G as they provide more flexibility than HTS and are capable of being able to better match traffic distributions, accommodate more demand per beam and support dynamic service delivery.
