FDDI - Fiber Distributed Data Interface

Fibre Distributed Data Interface is a 100Mbps fiber optic LAN (Local Area Network) technology employing two fibre rings and token passing technology in order to allow hosts to access the network. The technology is generally deployed on the LAN backbone where high end servers and routers reside.
