CVSD – Continuous Variable Slope Delta Modulation
Bluetoothª uses a 64Kbps CVSD (Continuously Variable Slope Delta) modulation scheme to code the voice. It is also possible to use standard 64Kbps PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) if required. CVSD takes advantage of the fact that human voice signals do not change rapidly and hence there is only a small change between samples.
