BSF Binding Support Function
The BSF (Binding Support Function) provides correlation-based information to allow consumer network functions such as the NEF (Network Exposure Function) or NWDAF (Network Data Analytics Function) to discover and reach the correct PCF (Policy Control Function) instance that is serving a particular UE (User Equipment), PDU (Protocol Data Unit) Session, or Network Slice. An example use case of interacting with the BS is to support the querying and adjustment of policies in order to support policy enforcement for a particular UE. The BSF will maintain mapping information about UE identifiers such as the SUPI (Subscription Permanent Identity), IP (Internet Protocol) address, Slice / DNN (Data Network Name) combinations and the corresponding PCF addressing information.
