A bitmap defines a map of Ô1Õs and Ô0Õs. When used for resource allocation the Ô1Õ indicates an allocated resource and a Ô0Õ indicates that no resources were allocated. Bitmaps are also used in retransmission systems to indicate which packets or frames should be sent again.
