Course Details
The 5G System supports by design a broad range of new use cases, requiring low latency and high reliability. These use cases, referred to as Ultra-Reliable and Low Latency Communications (URLLC), or Critical Machine Type Communications (cMTC), are expected to enable a plethora of applications, including industrial automation, smart-grid, remote surgery, vehicular automation, and many others.
This course provides a foundation of the main technologies proposed by 3GPP for the support of critical and time-sensitive machine-type communications, including the integration of a 5G System to an IEEE Time Sensitive Network.
