Course Outline
This 3 day course focuses on the R7 and R8 HSPA+, however provides a comprehensive review of R5 and R6 HSPA. The course includes a number demos and practical’s looking at procedures on the Air interface and Iub Interface, as well as physical layer attributes. This includes a look at ASN coding for the Iub and air interface.
Divided into 7 sections, the topics covered in this 3 day course will include:
Section 1: Network Building Blocks (1 hour)
- 3GPP Evolution - from R5 to R10, the goals of LTE.
- Review of the HSPA+ Architecture, UTRAN, UTRA, Node B and RNC Interfaces, MSC, SGSN, GGSN and IMS.
- User Equipment Functionality and Identities.
- Network Identities, LAC, RAC and Cell Identity.
- UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+ Performance.
Section 2: HSPA – up to Release 6 (2.5 hours)
- Services provided by the Physical Layer.
