XCAP is a format of XML (eXtensible Markup Language) that enables an XCAP Client to instruct an XCAP Server to add, modify or remove information from a list or database. Likewise, using HTTP (Hyper Text Transport Protocol), it may retrieve information formatted using XCAP for use locally.
