In the GPRS system the LLC protocol provides a highly reliable ciphered logical link between the MS (Mobile Station) and SGSN (Serving GPRS Support Node). It is independent of the underlying radio interface protocols enabling the introduction of alternative GPRS radio solutions with minimal changes to the Network Switching System.
