GANC - Generic Access Network Controller

Formally referred to as a UNC, the GANC forms part of the 3GPP Release 6 GAN. It provides the connection between the mobile and the MSC / SGSN over the generic IP access network and in so doing, supports both the A and Gb interfaces towards the core network. The GANC also contains the SEGW.
