IP Engineering
 VoIP (Voice over IP) - 3 hours

This module focuses on the impact of deploying commercial VoIP services within mobile networks. With respect to media transport within these networks issues surrounding jitter, the use of RTP (Real Time Protocol), RTCP (Real Time Control Protocol) and RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol) as well as multicasting and maintaining QoS are explored. It is designed to supplement the IP in the UMTS Core Network tutorial and builds on the use of SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) as the primary VoIP call control protocol.
