SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) – 3 hours
SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) is an Internet standard proposed in RFC 3261 for setting up, controlling and tearing down sessions in the Internet. Sessions include Internet telephone calls and multimedia conferences. SIP is also used for instant messaging and presence and forms the basic underlying signalling mechanism for services such as POC (Push to talk Over Cellular). This module describes the SIP architecture in terms of the functions used in a SIP session as well as the use of the SIP methods to setup, manage, modify and tear down SIP based calls. |
