In so doing, the significance of public key cryptography is reviewed along with the more common key distribution techniques - Diffie-Hellman, IKE (Internet Key Exchange) etc. Finally, the role of Certification Authorities is discussed, and the means by which Digital Certificates are used - distribution, enrolment and validation.
