MMS provides more enhanced features over those of SSM for the delivery of media to the mobile handset. This module outlines the MMS architecture and lists the key elements that make up the MMS system. It defines which MMS interfaces are used for inter network communications and discusses the supported message formats used within MMS and the procedures involved in MMS delivery. It also outlines the delivery methods utilized within the operation of MMS including WAP and the impact that GPRS has had on the delivery of MMS. The module concludes with discussion of the enhancements available to MMS when it is delivered over UMTS. |
