LTE, or Long Term Evolution, is the trade name for the research and development work that is underway within 3GPP to identify technologies and capabilities in order to satisfy the future vision of UMTS. It ensures that UMTS remains a highly competitive technology through 2010 and beyond. This module, which is designed to supplement the UMTS Air Interface and UTRAN tutorials, explores the current development proposals which are designed to enhance the UTRA.
