IPSec (IP Security) - 2 hours
The IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) set of security protocols entitled IPSec are examined in this module. This includes an explanation of both the authentication and privacy services available to IPv4 and IPv6 network architectures.The two IPSec modes of operation are described (Authentication Header and Encapsulating Security Payload) in addition to explaining the significance of a Security Association. The module also examines Secure Sockets and Filters as well as basic Firewall operation in addition to illustrating the use of IPSec within a VPN (Virtual Private Network) environment. |
