IP Traffic Engineering - 3 hours
Management of IP traffic to ensure effective and efficient use of resources has evolved as networks have increased both in size and capacity. This module explores how typical IP networks are structured along with various routing protocols that are employed to ensure effective and stable network operation. The concepts of Autonomous Systems as well as BGP4 and OSPF operation are discussed as well as the effective establishment of VPN (Virtual Private Networks) and how this and other overheads such as security affect typical IP operation. This module complements mpirical’s range of IP based hot topics including Mobile IP, IPv6 Operation, VoIP and others which focus on QoS aspects within IP networks. |
