SAE - Core Network Evolution (3 hours)Forming part of mpirical’s acclaimed “Explained” series, this 3 hour eSeminar introduces the core network evolution. This eSeminar first looks at the strategy and concepts behind the SAE development and the timelines involved. It then discusses how SAE will be employed to facilitate interworking in the 3GPP and Non 3GPP environment. Finally the focus turns to the service environment of the SAE and the role of TISPAN and the IMS in delivering next generation services. Who Should AttendNetwork Engineers requiring a technical appreciation of how the mobile core network will evolve through the SAE philosophy. Project Managers and Technical Sales involved in LTE development. SynopsisDivided into 3 sections, the topics covered will include: Section 1: SAE Key Aims and Timelines (1 hour)The SAE study group was established to analyse the impact of IMT Advanced on future development of 3GPP based mobile networks. This section first looks at the key aims of IMT Advanced and how they impact on core network operation, as well as when SAE deployment strategies may start.
Section 2: Bridging 3GPP and Non 3GPP Networks (1 hour)While the E-UTRAN, under the development of the LTE Study Group, will handle micro mobility, one of the key responsibilities of the Evolved Packet Core will be to ensure macro mobility between various 3GPP and Non 3GPP cores can be facilitated. This section takes a snap shot of the main procedures that SAE defines to handle this requirement.
Section 3: Service Integration using the SAE (1 hour)A wide ranging, interoperable multimedia services is one of the main requirements of IMT Advanced. ETSI TISPAN and 3GPP IMS form an integral part of SAE for this reason. This section describes the architecture and operation of service delivery using these approaches.
