Fixed Mobile Convergence and Seamless Mobility (1 hour)Forming part of mpirical’s acclaimed “The Essential Guide to” series, this 1 hour eSeminar introduces the concept of Fixed Mobile Convergence, discussing how the goal of seamless mobility is being achieved within service provider networks. As such, this eSeminar will explain the key features, drivers and factors behind convergence, both from a technical and business perspective. Who Should AttendSales Staff requiring a concise overview of what IP Convergence is and how it is affecting the telecoms industry. Fixed line Telecoms Engineers gauging how convergence will affect the fixed broadband market. SynopsisDivided into 3 sections, the topics covered will include: Section 1: The Case for Convergence (1 hour)This introductory section explores exactly what FMC (Fixed Mobile Convergence) is, tracking how operators and carriers are not just converging on particular technologies but also converging in terms of standards, protocols and service offerings. The migration of networks towards IP transport architectures is examined, outlining the motivation for this in terms of OPEX, CAPEX and ARPU.
Section 2: Everything over IP (1 hour)This section seeks to explore what a Next Generation Network looks like and how NGN will adopt IP to transport all traffic. As such, consideration will be given to how voice signalling and media will be carried in NGN core networks, with respect to both fixed and mobile providers. Moreover, the integration of IP into the mobile and fixed access network will also be investigated.
Section 3: Convergence and Service Delivery (1 hour)Having adopted an IP NGN architecture, this concluding section will highlight how these converged core and access networks can be used to deliver seamless delivery of services to the user, regardless of their location in the world, the terminal device they are using or the access network they are connected to; all features which were previously unavailable before IP convergence began.
