WiMAX System Engineering (2 days or 12 hours)

As Service Providers from both the fixed and mobile environment seek to enhance their broadband offering, WiMAX is being adopted across the globe as a flexible, efficient and scalable option. Through initiatives from the IEEE and WiMAX Forum, WiMAX technology is now mature enough to be deployed as a fixed line replacement technology or alternatively, as a platform to deliver 4G services to mobile customers. This course seeks to provide a comprehensive description of current WiMAX networks, defining the overall architecture, operation and procedures associated with this cutting edge technology.

Who Should Attend

Technical Staff who will be involved in the development and deployment of WiMAX networking technology. Product Managers and associated Support Staff who need a detailed technical insight into WiMAX.

Pre - Learning

Pre-Learning is provided to prime those attending the instructor led phase. Each lesson is based on an interactive online format and should take about 30 minutes to complete. The pre-Learning lessons are:

  • Test of Understanding - Try the online check to see how much you know.
  • Introduction to WiMAX.
  • WiMAX Network Architecture.
  • OFDM Principles.
  • IP Convergence.
