IP for Next Generation Networks
(1 day or 6 hours)

IP based transport network are being deployed extensively across telecommunications service provider networks, with circuit switched technology being replaced in favour of the cost savings IP can potentially offer. This course seeks to demystify the IP networking environment, explaining the key terms and technologies being used in the Next Generation of telecommunications networks.

Who Should Attend

Transmission and Switching Engineers involved in the deployment of Next Generation IP Networks. Network Planners requiring a comprehensive explanation of IP operation and related protocols.

Pre - Learning

Pre-Learning is provided to prime those attending the instructor led phase. Each lesson is based on an interactive online format and should take about 30 minutes to complete. The pre-Learning lessons are:

  • Test of Understanding - Try the online check to see how much you know.
  • Packet Switching.
  • Protocol Stacks and IP.
  • IP Addressing.
  • Problems with IP in Next Generation Networks.
