
EAP-SIM (Extensible Authentication Protocol - Subscriber Identity Module) - 2 hours
This module investigates the security procedures associated with the convergence of WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) and existing second generation cellular networks - GSM and GPRS (General Packet Radio Service). It identifies the modifications to network architecture (Release 6) required to support the authentication of a 3GPP (Third Generation Partnership Project) subscriber via a WLAN access network. This includes a description of the signalling procedures on the various interfaces; Wx, Wr and D.

The module also describes the message formats utilized to support SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) security information to be inter-worked with EAP (Extensible Authentication Protocol).
