With an increase in the amount of object based programming within telecommunications networks, this module examines CORBA as designed by the OMG (Object Management Group). In so doing, the concept of object based management is discussed along with the significance of the ORB (Object Request Broker) and the OMG IDL (Interface Definition Language).
The separation of “Interface” from “Implementation”, the very essence of CORBA, is examined with regards interoperability and service transparency. |
